  • Quality Time
Lots of quality soul on offer during the Autumn months: Greg Walker, Temika Moore, Floetry, Miguel Migs, Glenn Jones etc. Pieces of a Dream's latest album keeps up the good vibes with Tracy Hamlin shining as their new vocal guest.

  • The Soul Scale

Our albums of the month are compilation CD's this time: Organic Soul 2 was featured as our album of the month on our Website last October, and the latest album of the month (January 2003) is the brand new, excellent Cafe de Soul Vol. 2 compilation. Other CD's included in our review pages this time are the latest CD's by India.Arie, Gerald Levert, Meshell NDegeocello, Lugo, Miguel Migs, Syleena Johnson and Vivian Green.

  • The Funk Brothers
The Funk Brothers is the legendary Motown session group that is being celebrated now in a film titled Standing in the Shadows of Motown, based on a book written by Allan "Dr. Licks" Slutsky. Heikki Suosalo compiles the history of the group and also interviews James Jamerson Jr, the son of the original Funk Brothers member, legendary bass player James Jamerson. Read the story of Funk Brothers from our printed issue!

  • Deep

Our Deep column updates the current events around The Dramatics, interviews the early 70s soul hero Marion Black and reviews the latest CD's by Little Milton, Tyrone Davis, Patrick Green, Frank-O Johnson, Marvin Sease, Willie Clayton, Eddie Floyd, Roy C, Lamont Dozier and Charlie Robinson, amongst others. In addition to that, we have some gospel-soul CD's by Candi Staton and Might Clouds of Joy to check.

  • A Special Interview with PEGGI BLU
Soul 24-7.com DJ / soul music promoter Andreas Hellingh debuts as a Soul Express contributor by providing us a magnificient 5-page exclusive interview with Peggi Blu(e). Peggi is really not a newcomer in a soul scene, despite tha fact that she has only released 3 albums during her long career. Read the whole story from our printed issue!

  • Pieces of a Dream - Album by Album
Pieces of a Dream is the most outstanding jazz-soul group of the last 2 decades, and they celebrate their over 30-year-long career by releasing their arguably the best effort to date, the wonderful new CD Love's Silhouette. Read their story album by album, track by track - 12 albums plus 2 compilations.

  • Jazz-Funk

Again with two pages of smooth jazz CD reviews, the Pieces of a Dream newie is the cherry on top here, too, but also the latest sets by Gato Barbieri, Bob Baldwin, Marion Meadows, Kim Waters and Mike Phillips are well worth a mention.

  • Upfront Soul

Two strong soul singers who have only released one solo album a long time ago, Terry Steele and Greg Walker are back with brand new CD's. Temika Moore was introduced on her Website by Will Downing, who writes that Temika has all the elements of a good singer. She really has, having an interpretive style reminiscent of Rachelle Ferrell. The Organic Soul Vol 2. compilation introduced us Kevin Chandler Band and The Real Kofy Brown - our editor checks the original albums here. Other interesting new CD's fteaure the traditional, solid soul CD by Tonia Woods, plus the acclaimed debut sets by neo-soul heroines Conya Doss and Goapele.
